Project description
The energy efficiency and savings project, titled "Improving the Energy Efficiency of Air Treatment and Conditioning Units," has been selected as a beneficiary within the program for energy savings and efficiency for SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector. This program is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), coordinated by the IDAE, and managed by regional entities (in this case, the Andalusian Energy Agency), under the National Energy Efficiency Fund. Its goal is to achieve a cleaner and more sustainable economy.
The project, with reference number 303820, has been granted funding of €114,000, representing an investment of €380,000, and is being implemented at the San Pablo Sur factory in Seville.
Savings will be achieved through temperature setting programming, scheduling start-stop times, and regulating the power delivered to motors (via variable-speed drives). In other words, the fans will transition from continuous operation (the situation prior to the project) while work is carried out in the workshops included in this project, to operating at regulated power and only when their functioning is necessary (the future scenario post-project). This will enable annual savings of 143.42 tons of oil equivalent.
