ASUMO
AUTONOMY ARCHITECTURE AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS FOR UAS AND AIR MOBILITY
Project description
The ASUMO project aims to research autonomous flight capabilities required for an autonomous, efficient, and flexible logistics ecosystem, which would include the operation of cargo and passenger drones, ensuring safe flight and airspace integration. ASUMO will provide a system architecture for autonomy and technological modules for situational awareness, and will investigate the development of autonomous flight procedures adaptable to different aerial vehicle configurations. These procedures will enable optimization in terms of noise reduction and energy efficiency, while remaining scalable and adaptable to various aerial vehicle configurations, both for cargo and passenger transport.
This project has been funded by the CDTI, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, under file number MIG-20241006, through the 2024 call of the Science and Innovation Missions Program, within the Transfer and Collaboration Program of the 2024–2027 State Plan for Scientific, Technical, and Innovation Research, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
