FUSSION

FUSELAGE SUSTAINABLE INTEGRATION

Project description

The general objective of the FUSSION project is to contribute to the decarbonization of the air transport sector through technological and operational innovations applied to future short- and medium-range single-aisle aircraft, enabling greater environmental efficiency by reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions in the aviation sector.

To achieve this, the FUSSION project aims to develop a novel concept of a flexible, sustainable, and intelligent aerostructure for the serial assembly of the central and rear fuselage of next-generation, more efficient short/medium-range aircraft.

The project proposes collaborative research between commercial and military aviation to define the scope of final fuselage assembly by identifying and evaluating challenges and limitations. This will enable the development of support techniques aligned with best engineering practices within a robust, reconfigurable, and sustainable manufacturing system. This innovative approach addresses the requirements of different markets using a single concept developed under similar frameworks.
