IRON NPE

The company AIRBUS OPERATIONS, S.L. / AIRBUS UPNEXT S.L. / ARIEMA ENERXIA SL. / CAPGEMINI ESPAÑA, S.L.. / AERTEC SOLUTIONS SL/ is developing a Research and Development project with file number PTAE-20221001 and entitled "RESEARCH INTO NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND DEMONSTRATORS OF EMBODIED SYSTEMS FOR THE USE OF HYDROGEN IN AIRCRAFT (IRON NPE)" within the AERONAUTICAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM in the modality of LARGE STRATEGIC PROJECTS for the year 2022 in collaboration with the companies AIRBUS OPERATIONS, S.L. / AIRBUS UPNEXT S.L. / ARIEMA ENERXIA SL. / CAPGEMINI ESPAÑA, S.L.. / AERTEC SOLUTIONS SL/.

The project has an expected duration of 35 months, starting in August 2022 and has a total approved budget of €24,577,919 and a total grant of €15,879,521.50. The IRON NPE project aims to design and develop the architectures of new sustainable H2 systems that are capable of supplying auxiliary power to an aircraft. It also seeks to develop a complete ground test cell that allows the entire battery of tests necessary to qualify and test the new systems to be carried out.

This project has been subsidized by the CDTI, co-financed with European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
